Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - A Touching Tribute

Rating - 8/10

“Only the most broken people can be great leaders.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had one of the toughest tasks in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. It not only had to follow up the groundbreaking first film, but it also had to deal with the devastating loss of Chadwick Boseman. The result is a movie that feels equal parts superhero epic and heartfelt tribute, and while it is not perfect, it succeeds in telling a moving story that honors its legacy.

The acting across the board is strong, but Angela Bassett stands out above the rest. Her performance as Queen Ramonda is powerful, emotional, and commanding, bringing real gravitas to every scene she is in. Letitia Wright steps up in a big way as Shuri, showing growth and depth in a role that demands a lot. The film also introduces Riri Williams, and while she adds some fun moments, her inclusion sometimes feels like setup for future projects rather than a natural part of the story.

Namor is a highlight here. While his portrayal differs slightly from the comics, Tenoch Huerta brings a real intensity and depth to the character. He feels like a genuine threat but also one with understandable motives, which makes him one of the better Marvel antagonists in recent years. His world and his people add richness to the film’s scope and mythology.

The story is solid and packed with emotion, but it does run a little long. There are moments where you can feel the pacing slow down, and some of the subplots do not hit as strongly as the central conflict. Still, the core of the movie works because it is driven by grief, legacy, and resilience.

What really makes Wakanda Forever stand out is its tribute to Chadwick Boseman. From the opening Marvel logo to the quiet, heartfelt moments throughout, the film never loses sight of who it is honoring. It feels genuine, respectful, and deeply moving, giving the audience space to grieve while also celebrating his impact.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may not be flawless, but it is powerful, emotional, and ambitious. It shows that Marvel can balance spectacle with sincerity, and it delivers a story that lingers long after the credits roll.
